Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions and their corresponding answers. If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at Chambers Creek Veterinary Hospital.
What are the hospital hours?
Our hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:30pm. On Saturdays we are open from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Appointments may be made with a doctor Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 11:30 am, and 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Saturday appointment hours with the doctor are 8:00 am to 11 am, and 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The hospital is closed on Sunday.
Do I need to make an appointment?
We encourage clients to schedule an appointment in order to be seen promptly. We do accept walk-ins. Please be advised that if you choose to walk-in rather than schedule an appointment, you will likely wait until scheduled appointments have been seen. This may take up to 30 to 60 minutes on busy days. We also offer drop-off examinations for your convenience. If you elect to drop-off your pet, he/she will be examined by a doctor in between appointments, and then the doctor will contact you with his/her findings and recommendations. Please note that it may take several hours before a doctor is able to examine your pet. If you are a new client or have a new pet, you can help expedite the check-in process by downloading and completing the necessary paperwork prior to your appointment and bringing it with you. We can also better assist you as a new client if you provide us with your pet's previous medical history, which you may bring with you or have your previous clinic fax to us prior to your appointment.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, Check, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and Care Credit. Payment is due in full at the time of service.
Do you accept pet health insurance?
Yes! We recommend pet health insurance to help cover the cost of healthcare and are happy to assist you with the necessary paperwork. You can find out more about pet health insurance, including a comparison of the top companies, at Pet Insurance University. Please be advised that payment is due in full at the time of service, and your insurance company will provide you with reimbursement later per the terms of your agreement.
My pet is hospitalized/boarding. Is it okay for me to visit?
Of course! We do not have set visiting hours; however we recommend that you call prior to your visit to ensure a private visit and the opportunity to speak with our staff if desired. Please be advised that in the event of a medical emergency, we may ask you to wait to conduct your visit until the emergency case has been resolved.
The doctor recommended I consult with a specialist. How do I schedule a consultation?
If one of our doctors recommends an in-hospital referral with a specialist, we will handle the scheduling for you. We generally offer referrals to a board-certified surgeon twice monthly, referrals to a cardiologist once monthly, and referrals to a radiologist twice weekly.
Do you offer more holistic approaches to medicine?
While we are primarily a traditional practice, we do offer some holistic therapies such as acupuncture, massage, pheromone treatment, and nutritional support as an integrative approach to treatment for some medical/behavioral conditions. Our doctors would be happy to discuss various treatment options that may be appropriate for your pet.
Do you offer grooming?
Yes, we have a professional groomer on staff who grooms dogs and cats for routine and therapeutic purposes. We also offer routine bathing with our kennel staff. Please call to make an appointment.
Do you board pets?
Yes, we offer boarding for our clients. We have boarding space for both dogs and cats. Please call to make a reservation.
What are your dog kennels and cat condos like?
Our dog kennels are all indoor. The dogs are walked several times daily while they are boarding. The cat boarders are housed in a separate condo area away from the dogs, or may be boarded in a kennel in the general hospital area at your preference. You are welcome to tour the boarding facilities prior to boarding - please ask the reception staff for a tour!
