Christa Curtiss
Dr. Curtiss grew up part of a large family on a small vegetable farm in Colwich, Kansas. Her first job at a petting zoo helped solidify her love of animals and put her on the path to becoming a veterinarian. She went to Kansas State University for undergraduate studies and veterinary school, and graduated with her DVM in 2018. Following graduation, she moved to Indianapolis for a small animal rotating internship program at IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital. She stayed at IndyVet the following year for an internal medicine specialty internship, and again the next year as a hospitalist for ER and surgical patients. After her significant other landed a residency in Washington, Dr. Curtiss made the leap with him and moved across the country.
Dr. Curtiss's interests lie in internal medicine, urgent care, geriatric and hospice care, and avian medicine. She is passionate about building bonds with patients and their owners.
Outside of work, she enjoys birdwatching, reading, binge-watching the same 3 tv shows, and spending time with her 2 dogs (Kanga and Marley) and cat (Neffie).
